Pamela Roach, Real Estate Agent

Choosing a REALTOR® is a critical step in your decision to buy or sell a house. Unless you personally know the REALTOR®, you most likely are thinking: How will I know if this person has the necessary skills and personal traits to make my real estate transaction proceed smoothly and be as stress-free as possible?

If I were in your place, I would want the REALTOR® to have a career background requiring honesty, integrity, ethics, trustworthiness, confidentiality, organization, attention to detail, the meeting of deadlines, the ability to negotiate contracts, and especially a proven track record for providing excellent customer and client service. These attributes are what I offer my customers, and I invite you to read further about my background.

A second career in real estate sales has been a natural progression for me.  Completing the courses and testing required to be awarded the designation of "Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) is the highlight of my career thus far.  Next was attaining the designation of SRES®, a Seniors Real Estate Specialist.

As a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, being familiar with surrounding areas is advantageous. Having a background relating to the legal field is a bonus to my assisting customers with their real estate needs.  My first employment was as a legal assistant in the litigation department of an international law firm in downtown Jacksonville. Later I attended The Stenotype School of Jacksonville Beach and became a court reporter for 26 years, founding Accurate Reporting Service of Jacksonville, Inc.

While working as a court reporter doing depositions, trials, arbitrations, board meetings, conferences, my clients included attorneys, insurance companies, the Internal Revenue Service, The Florida Bar, the Florida Board of Bar Examiners, the City’s General Counsel Office, railroad companies, the State Attorney’s Office, the Public Defender’s Office, and the military, just to name a few. Accurate Reporting also was an independent contractor for three U.S. District Court magistrate judges.

My certifications included written knowledge and skills tests to become an RPR, Registered Professional Reporter. I was a certified trainer for court reporting software. I was a Chief Examiner for the National Court Reporter Association’s national testing program. I served two two-year terms as president of the Jacksonville Court Reporters Association. I served a three-year term on the Board of Directors of STAR (Society for the Technological Advancement of Reporting), an international court reporting technology group.

What makes me happiest in my spare time is anytime I'm with my two sons and their wives!

Post-retirement activities have included two-year terms each as secretary and as treasurer of the Hidden Hills Ladies Golf Association and a term as vice president of The Don Thompson Chorale.  Music has been a lifelong passion of mine and continues to this day: playing the piano and/or organ for churches; singing with The Don Thompson Chorale at venues all over the First Coast area; singing with the River City Men’s and Women’s Choruses each year, raising money for various charities.

I enjoy playing golf and would love to show my customers golf courses in the Jacksonville area – and possibly brag a little bit about my one and only hole-in-one!
